Firefighters responded to a report of smoke damage at a two-story single-family home located at 6002 Balsam Drive in McLean on March 9. According to an alert dispatched by the 1st Responder Wireless News Dispatch team, a division of Belsito Communications Inc., the incident was caused by food left on the stove. Emergency units arrived at the scene around 7:22 p.m. and began setting up ventilation to clear the smoke.
