Firefighters responded to reports of smoke damage at a residence on E. Violette Drive caused by a malfunctioning heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit. Emergency crews arrived at 32 E. Violette Dr. on Jan. 1 at around 8:36 a.m. to find smoke filling the home. Officials vented the structure to clear the air and isolated the faulty HVAC unit to prevent further issues.
