Firefighters responded to a minor rubbish fire that extended to a private dwelling at 3899 Byron Place on Jan. 1. The blaze was quickly knocked down, with crews opening up the structure and checking for any further extension. No injuries were reported in the incident, which was dispatched as a minor fire by the 1st Responder Wireless News Dispatch team, a division of Belsito Communications Inc. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
