Firefighters responded to a minor appliance fire in an apartment at 209 Mt. Pleasant Ave. Crews contained the incident with no reported injuries, while ventilation efforts were underway. The Newark Fire Department arrived on scene around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 12 to handle the small blaze, which was quickly brought under control.
