Firefighters successfully battled a first-alarm fire in an open field that posed a serious threat to a nearby home just 25 feet away. The incident was reported at 7442 Mirgan Road. Crews arrived to find active flames spreading across the field and immediately called for mutual aid from Howard County fire departments. The fire broke out on Jan. 7 at 4:55 p.m.
