Firefighters responded to reports of smoke coming from a one-story single-family home on Darlene Street in Chester. The incident, dispatched on Jan. 6 at around 11:38 p.m., involved a working fire in the kitchen. Engine 17 arrived on scene to find visible smoke, and command advised that water had been applied to the flames.

A primary search of the structure came back negative, with no occupants found inside. A rehabilitation unit was en route to support responders, and ventilation efforts were underway to clear the smoke.

No injuries were reported at the time of the initial dispatch. Further details are pending from Chesterfield County authorities.
