Firefighters Battle Dryer Fire in Chesterfield Home

Heavy smoke poured from a single-family home as firefighters responded to a dryer fire on Jan. 9. The blaze was reported at 5418 Chatteris Pl., where Engine 217 quickly applied water to the laundry area fire. Battalion Chief 201 took command, and Truck 214 performed a primary search to check for occupants.

A Rapid Intervention Team was in place for firefighter safety, and Fire Marshal 209 arrived on scene to investigate. No injuries were immediately reported from the 3:36 p.m. incident.
