Firefighters battled a working fire at 210 E. Baker St. early Friday, where smoke was visible from the A-side and flames from the D-side of a two-story vacant single-family structure. Engine 5 arrived on scene around 6:35 a.m. on Jan. 16, reporting the blaze. Battalion 1 assumed command and noted unhoused individuals exiting the building. Water was applied to the fire, and a primary search was underway to ensure no one remained inside.
