A working fire erupted at a vacant 2.5-story building on Acushnet Street, drawing a quick response from local firefighters and police. Crews arrived at 22 Acushnet St. to find smoke billowing from the first and second floors. Additional engine companies were called in to form a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT). The incident was officially declared a working fire by Chief 2 on Jan. 2 at 10:00 a.m.
