A severe car crash on State Route 30 near mile marker 1179 turned deadly when the vehicle struck a pole and burst into flames, trapping one occupant inside while another was thrown from the car. The fire chief at the scene urgently called for mutual aid to support rescue operations and requested a helicopter for medical evacuation. Emergency responders raced against the fire to free the victims.
