Emergency crews rushed to 206 E Main St. after reports of smoke billowing from a second-story window. The incident was reported at 5:41 p.m. on Jan. 7, with command requesting extra manpower to tackle the fire at an old mercantile district building. Firefighters arrived swiftly to address the visible smoke from the upper level and started operations to contain and put out the flames.
