A hiker suffering from a possible hip fracture is being airlifted to safety from a remote trail after issuing a distress call on March 15. The Firebird helicopter has been deployed for a hoist rescue operation approximately 3.5 miles along the trail. The alert came in around 12:46 p.m., and rescue teams are navigating difficult terrain to extract the individual safely.
