A 59-year-old Oregon man died after a vehicle hit him while he crossed a busy avenue in a wheelchair, authorities reported.

Portland police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident that unfolded on a Northeast Portland thoroughfare.

The Portland Police Bureau publicly identified Edney on November 10.
