Fatal Hit-and-Run Occurred West of Vincent Grade Metrolink Station Entrance
ACTON, CA, (June 22, 2025) -
A 68-year-old Palmdale man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run collision early Sunday morning in Acton, Los Angeles County. Authorities have identified the victim as David Beal.
David Beal, 68, of Palmdale, was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning on Sierra Highway in Acton, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 12:49 a.m. on Sierra Highway, just west of the entrance to the Vincent Grade Metrolink Station. According to investigators, Beal was walking westbound when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. The driver fled the scene without stopping.
Tragically, Beal died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. As of now, no arrests have been made.
The case remains under active investigation.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
Under California law, drivers involved in a crash are legally required to remain at the scene and notify authorities. Still, some flee—jeopardizing lives and complicating the path to justice. According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, nearly 65 percent of those killed in hit-and-run crashes since 2016 were pedestrians or bicyclists.
“Having the proper resources is extremely important to investigate a hit-and-run case and prove negligence,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a seasoned hit-and-run accident attorney.
“Factors such as road conditions, signage visibility, and lighting must be thoroughly examined,” Bond added. “These investigative steps are crucial in helping families who have lost a loved one pursue the justice they deserve.”
Bond, a national legal analyst for The Legal Advocate, also emphasized a driver’s core responsibility: “The driver always has to take great care behind the wheel.”
WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM
Pending the investigation, the family of David Beal may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, emotional distress, and pain and suffering following a catastrophic accident such as this one.
“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.
“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital. A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected.”
