Uxbridge police have announced the line-of-duty death of Officer Stephen LaPorta, a 43-year-old who joined the department a year ago. The incident occurred at 275 Douglas St. on Jan. 7. LaPorta passed away while serving the community. Details about the circumstances of his death are not yet available.
