Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze that ignited on the first floor of a two-story private dwelling at 124 Conklin Avenue, at the corner of East 95th Street, early March 15. The fire was reported at 3:10 a.m. and rapidly spread to the second floor of the 20-by-40-foot structure. Box 2227 was dispatched to the scene, with the response escalating to a second alarm as crews worked to control the flames.
