A second alarm fire erupted in a two-story residential building at 2139 Decker Ave. on Jan. 6. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene in North Merrick following reports of the blaze. The Nassau County Fire Department transmitted the second alarm, indicating escalated response efforts.
