Firefighters tackled a fire in a trash compactor on the 18th floor of a 19-story apartment building at 57-15 Shore Front Parkway in Queens early Jan. 16. An all-hands response was called to Box 1247 around 1:58 a.m. for the 110-by-100-foot structure.
