National legal analysts provide guidance on navigating incidents involving vulnerable road users.

“Having the proper resources is extremely important to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence,” said Candice Bond, managing partner with Bond Legal. Bond stressed: “In most instances, pedestrians possess the right of way when crossing an intersection or a street, regardless of whether they are in a marked crosswalk. It is always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian.”

“It is almost always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal. Pending an investigation, the victim may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Formica noted that stress from an injury can be overwhelming. It disrupts all aspects of life, including family, work, finances, and overall quality of life.

  • Key Takeaway 1: Pedestrians generally have the right-of-way in crosswalks and intersections.
  • Key Takeaway 2: Professional investigation is crucial to establishing negligence and fault.
  • Key Takeaway 3: Hiring an attorney helps negotiate fair compensation against insurance pressures.
  • Key Takeaway 4: In cases such as this, legal support ensures victims receive respectful treatment and adequate recovery resources.
