CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Pedestrian fatalities are on the rise nationwide due to a combination of factors, including the prevalence of larger vehicles, inadequate pedestrian infrastructure, and increasingly dangerous driving behaviors. According to a preliminary report from the Governors Highway Safety Association, 7,148 pedestrians were struck and killed by drivers in 2024.

“In most instances, pedestrians possess the right of way when crossing an intersection or a street, regardless of whether they are in a marked crosswalk,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “It is always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian.”

Bond emphasized that in tragic cases like the death of Ashley Jarrell, it is crucial to conduct an independent investigation to determine liability and protect the rights of the victim’s family. “A seasoned attorney can ensure vital evidence is preserved and help the family pursue justice and compensation for their loss,” she added.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family of Ashley N. Jarrell may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim for the loss of love, companionship, and emotional support.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital,” Bond added. “A wrongful death attorney will monitor the official investigation closely and work to ensure that the family's legal rights and best interests are safeguarded during this incredibly difficult time.”
