WILLOWBROOK, CA, (August 29, 2025) - A 57-year-old man was killed Friday morning in a motorcycle crash in the unincorporated Willowbrook area near South Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Armando Lizarraga Casillas. His city of residence was not immediately available.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Casillas’ motorcycle collided with a red sedan just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of South Alameda and East 134th streets.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Motorcycles offer little protection, and even a low-impact crash can cause serious injuries or be fatal to the rider. Motorists should be especially cautious around these vulnerable road users—give them plenty of space, slow down at intersections, and look twice before turning. Although motorcycles make up only 3% of all registered vehicles in the United States, motorcyclists accounted for 15.5% of all traffic fatalities and 3.4% of all injuries in 2023, according to the National Safety Council (NSC).

“Motorcycle riders are arguably the most vulnerable motorists on the roadways, given the fact that there are no airbags or sturdy windows to protect them from an impact,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

“An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a collision,” said Bond, an experienced accident attorney.

Bond stressed that in cases such as this, it is imperative to have an independent investigation into the crash conducted by a seasoned lawyer to protect the rights of the victim’s family.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family of Armando Lizarraga Casillas may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a catastrophic accident.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

“A wrongful death attorney will remain informed on the progress of the investigation and work to ensure that the victim's rights and best interests are fully protected.”
