Police investigating fatal Friday night crash in Camas

August 09, 2024 | Camas, WA
The Camas Police Department says a 48-year-old woman lost her life Thursday night in a jet ski accident on Lacamas Lake. Investigators say Vancouver resident Angela Narciso and a 10-year-old child were ejected when two jet skis collided on the lake at approximately 7:11 p.m.

Patrol LightsAngela Narciso was fatally injured Friday night in a jet ski accident on Lake Camas.

Narciso was rushed to a local hospital where she sadly succumbed to her injuries.

The 10-year-old and the second driver involved were not hurt in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.

JET SKI CRASH INVESTIGATION

Jet skiing can be dangerous, and often people are not experienced enough to handle a vessel or too confident in their abilities on waters that can be unpredictable. These types of crashes are often caused by speeding, errors by operators, improper maintenance, defects in boat components and a lack of training.

According to the United States Coast Guard (USCG), approximately 650 jet ski accidents are reported each year in this country.

Candice Bond, an experienced jet ski accident attorney and a Managing Partner of Bond Legal, stressed that no amount of money will compensate for the physical and emotional toll that accident victims endure. Still, it's imperative that victims are properly represented.

“Insurance companies often try to pressure victims to settle for a quick payout for far less than the case is worth,” added Bond, national analyst for Newsline. “They are financially motivated to limit compensation and do not factor in the long-term consequences and suffering those victims will ultimately experience. Attorneys vigorously advocate for their clients to ensure that they are treated with respect and compensated fairly.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family members of Angela Narciso may pursue a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a catastrophic accident such as this.

“Stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal.

“We understand just what families must go through, and having their rights protected is vital. A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected."
